Hardware for Sale

Introduction

I have had a number of requests from people asking if I had any old PC hardware to sell. As a matter of fact, I do have some older used, but working components that I would like to sell. These are nearly complete systems (without a case or power supply).

Cases and power supplies are big and relatively heavy, so they are expensive to ship. A new case and power supply will probably cost roughly $100-$120 combined, depending on what you get.

The component links have detailed information about each component.

All of these systems are assembled on a test bench, with an un-activated copy of Windows 10 Professional, version 2004 installed. I have updated everything possible with the latest BIOS and firmware.

System 1 – $275.00 plus shipping

This was a pretty high-end Z77 ATX motherboard that supports Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors. It has two PCIe 3.0 x8 slots. The processor is a high-end 4C/8T Sandy Bridge, with integrated graphics.

System 1

There is 32GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, which is the most this system will support. Finally, it has a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SATA 3 SSD. It has the I/O shield and motherboard manual.

Here are all of the components:

Here is the CPU-Z benchmark result for this system:

This is a pretty nice looking motherboard with a lot of features for its time. This system has enough overall horsepower to still do some useful work. With a decent video card, it can also play many games perfectly well. This system will also support an Ivy Bridge CPU, such as a Core i7-3770K.

System 2 – $225.00 plus shipping

This was a mid-range Z77 mATX motherboard that supports Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors. It has one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. The processor is a high-end 4C/8T Sandy Bridge, with integrated graphics.

Since this is a mATX motherboard, it will fit in a smaller case. This system has enough overall horsepower to still do some useful work. With a decent video card, it can also play many games perfectly well. This system will also support an Ivy Bridge CPU, such as a Core i7-3770K.

System 3 – $150.00 plus shipping

This was a mid-range Z77 mATX motherboard that supports Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors. It has one PCIe 3.0 x16 slot. The processor is a high-end 4C/4T Core i5 Sandy Bridge, with integrated graphics.

System 3

There is 16GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, but this system will support 32GB (and there are two empty slots). Finally, it has a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SATA 3 SSD. It has the I/O shield but no motherboard manual.

System 4 – $125.00 plus shipping

This was a pretty high-end Z68 ATX motherboard that supports Intel Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge processors. It has two PCIe 2.0 x16 slots. The processor is a mid-range 4C/4T Core i5 Sandy Bridge, with integrated graphics.

System 4

There is 16GB of DDR3-1600 RAM, and this system will support 32GB (but there are no empty slots). Finally, it has a 256GB Samsung 840 Pro SATA 3 SSD. It has the I/O shield but no motherboard manual.

Final Words

Given shipping costs, I probably will only ship within the United States to start with. Depending on what you are planning to do with the system, I have some other components (like small SSDs and much larger HDDs) that I might throw in for free.

If you are genuinely interested in a system, contact me. Thanks!
